Kirk Moeller

Principal Architect

Kirk Moeller is the founder of Kirk Moeller Architects, Inc. His extensive experience has led the firm in developing unique, site-specific design solutions that are sensitive to the environment as well as responsive to the needs of each client.

 

KM Architects' diverse portfolio contains a wide range of project types and sizes from mixed-use, industrial, professional office, retail, academic, single family residences and accessory dwelling units.

 

The philosophy of KM Architects is that exceptional design can occur in any setting, with any project type and within any budget.  It is the belief of KM Architects that the project creation process should be personal with the end result exceeding the client’s original vision and expectation.

 

Kirk oversees all processes from design to construction management for every KM Architects project.  He is a Registered Architect in the State of California.  Prior to him establishing KM Architects in 2019, Kirk had over twenty years of professional architectural experience working for another recognized architectural firm.

Andy Champion

Senior Project Manager

Andrew Champion has been involved in the building and construction industry for over twenty years with experience both in the field and within architectural firms. Andy’s experience encompasses a broad spectrum including space planning, research, code analysis, construction documentation, and construction management. Extensive field experience and understanding of construction methods and building permitting issues makes Andy an integral part of the KM Architects team. 

 

Andy’s architectural experience includes commercial, industrial, medical, retail, mixed-use, educational, and multi-family residential building types. Andy’s enthusiasm with the building industry and bringing concepts to reality makes him an indispensable component of KM Architects.

Cassidy Moyes

Senior Designer

​

Cassidy has been part of KM Architects since its founding in 2019. She specializes in space planning, exterior and interior design, and preparing Construction Documents for KM Architects. Cassidy graduated Cum Laude from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Sustainable Environments in 2015. She has over ten years of experience working for architectural firms with a wide variety of project typologies including single and multi-family residential, commercial/office, industrial, medical, ADU’s, hospitality, assisted living, education, and interior design. Her approach emphasizes space livability and aesthetic solutions.

Justin Freeman

Associate Designer

Justin joined KM Architects in 2020. He specializes in design objectives, space planning, execution of Construction Documents, and aiding in Construction Administration. Justin graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Architecture accredited degree from the NewSchool of Architecture + Design in San Diego. He has architectural and construction experience of collaborating with teams in a variety of project typologies including single and multi-family residential, commercial, industrial, educational, mixed use, civic, office, medical, ADU’s, aquatic and religious.

Autumn Ferrante

Interior Designer

Autumn joined KM Architects in 2021. She graduated from Design Institute of San Diego with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. She has over 20 years of experience in creating modern and efficient interiors for both residential and commercial projects.  Autumn works with a wide variety of residential and corporate clients, government agencies, building owners, brokers, contractors, and tenants to create both beautiful and functional spaces.

Melissa Moeller

Business Operations Manager

Melissa Moeller graduated from California State University San Marcos where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.  She later went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  After teaching for several years, Melissa helps her husband, Kirk run the daily operations at KM Architects.  Melissa manages day to day office operations, bookkeeping, accounts receivable and accounts payable, and human resources administration.
